Student Chapters

Many of the worst assaults on human liberty take place in the name of protecting the young.

Students all too often find that they don't have the same rights of expression, of privacy and of personal autonomy as other citizens of this state and country do.

We think that's wrong. At the ACLU of Indiana we believe that students cannot be taught to respect the Constitution while they are at the same time being told that its protections do not apply to them. We do not believe that we can prepare young people to embrace the responsibilities of self-government while denying them the blessings of liberty.

That is why the ACLU of Indiana has committed itself to supporting a strong network of student chapters across the state.

If you would like to become involved at an ACLU of Indiana student chapter, we would love to have you. On this page, you can find out if you are at a school that already has a chapter. If your school does not have a chapter and would like to start one, please contact us.

Please get involved. It matters.
