Join the ACLU of Indiana for a film screening of On the Basis of Sex, in honor of our nation's favorite dissenter – the notorious RBG! Tickets on sale now.
On January 16, the ACLU of Indiana will host a special screening of On the Basis of Sex, which follows Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, portrayed by Felicity Jones, as she takes on numerous obstacles in her fight for equal rights and shapes the way courts view gender discrimination.
The movie also looks at how Ginsburg pushed the American Civil Liberties Union to properly address women’s rights issues. Her experiences with sex discrimination inspired her to lead the ACLU Women’s Rights Project which launched in 1972. She directed the Project throughout the decade of the 1970s, bringing case after case to the U.S. Supreme Court and establishing Constitutional protection against sex discrimination. Today her legacy continues through the ACLU’s work to advance women’s equality and end discrimination in all its forms.
ACLU of Indiana staff will host a meet and greet at the Indie Lounge before the movie starting at 6:00. The movie will start at 7:00. Purchase your tickets today!
