SB 442 would require any instruction and learning materials used to teach “human sexuality” for grades 4-12, be approved by the school board and would require certain information to be publicly posted on the school’s website. The ACLU of Indiana objects to this unnecessary bill.
All students deserve a high quality and inclusive sexual health education . Individual school boards can already do everything mandated by it. Requiring these actions for school boards who don’t think they are helpful to their district’s families politicizes sexual health in a way that does not benefit schools or Hoosier parents and students.
