An Indiana native, Chris joined the ACLU of Indiana as Executive Director in 2024. He has a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University and a law degree from the University of California Berkeley School of Law. Immediately prior to joining the ACLU of Indiana, Chris was the Executive Director of the Indiana Association of Resources and Child Advocacy, where he advocated for effective services for Hoosier children, youth, and families.
Chris has also worked in Washington D.C. on improving conditions in jail, prisons, and juvenile and immigration detention facilities nationwide as Deputy Executive Director at Just Detention International. He is a co-founder and the first Director of the Transgender Law Center, where he advocated and litigated alongside transgender community members and their families throughout California.
