Muslim prisoners at Putnamville Correctional Facility are allowed to pray together in the day rooms at the prison but are not allowed to stand, prostrate, or bow–all of which is required by Islam. In April 2017, ACLU of Indiana filed a claim that the policy violates the federal Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act. A temporary agreement has been reached allowing group prayer for the early morning prayer.
