Minor Access and Use of Social Media (SB 11)
Parents have broad rights to restrict their child’s access to social media; the government does not.
Our advocacy work is just one of the ways that we advance civil liberties in our state. We spend a significant amount of time engaging in the legislative process, monitoring key civil liberty issues and talking with Indiana legislators to ensure the protection of Hoosiers' rights. We aim to support bills that strengthen our rights guaranteed under the Constitution and defeat bills that threaten them. But we cannot do this work without you.

Parents have broad rights to restrict their child’s access to social media; the government does not.
This is an incredibly broad bill that does not properly balance its goals against the privacy rights of minors.
The Constitution guarantees Americans the freedom to practice whatever religion they see fit and protects Americans’ right to be free from religion. Requiring that the Ten Commandments be posted in public schools violates both of these principles.
The bill would subject those Hoosiers convicted of rioting, criminal mischief, burglary, residential entry, or criminal trespass on state property to three-year bans for certain social support benefits or various types of public university tuition support.
This bill would criminalize the successful sending of the “abortion pill” (a common name for treatment via Mifepristone and Misoprostol) to someone in Indiana.
This bill would repeal the “aid and abet” provision of Indiana’s transgender youth healthcare ban.
