Common Sense Abortion Reforms (SB 275)
SB 275 would make common-sense reforms to Indiana’s near-total abortion ban.
Our advocacy work is just one of the ways that we advance civil liberties in our state. We spend a significant amount of time engaging in the legislative process, monitoring key civil liberty issues and talking with Indiana legislators to ensure the protection of Hoosiers' rights. We aim to support bills that strengthen our rights guaranteed under the Constitution and defeat bills that threaten them. But we cannot do this work without you.
SB 275 would make common-sense reforms to Indiana’s near-total abortion ban.
We oppose this bill because it would make voting harder, not easier. At a time when voter turnout in Indiana is among the lowest in the nation, elected officials should be focused on increasing opportunities for voting, not taking them away.
SB 442 would require any instruction and learning materials used to teach “human sexuality” for grades 4-12, be approved by the school board and would require certain information to be publicly posted on the school’s website. The ACLU of Indiana objects to this unnecessary bill.
This bill would violate important separation of church and state constitutional protections.
